Welcome back to another installment of the QCG Team Spotlight, where we take a look behind the scenes at the amazing professionals who make Queen Consulting Group a success. Today, we’d like to introduce you to one of our awesome Technical Recruiters, Shannon Allard.
Team Member: Shannon Allard
Role: Technical Recruiter
With Team QCG since: May 2016
Q: What’s your favorite thing about your role?
A: Every day I get to talk to and meet people that I otherwise might not have had the chance to do so! This field is very rewarding to work in, but the connections I make is what drives me daily. I love engaging with candidates and meeting teams/clients at various events because it helps me feel connected.
Q: What’s your best QCG memory?
A: Queen Consulting Group does an annual Kick-Off around the turn of the New Year. It’s a terrific few days filled with team dinners and bonding events. Last year it was held in Portsmouth, NH; it was really fun to explore a new city with your colleagues, have a few drinks together, and in our case, learn who could Escape-the-Room quicker.
Q: What’s something you are surprisingly good at?
A: I may only be 5’3” but I can pack a punch! I studied Martial Arts for over 7 years as a teenager. I practiced almost daily, and on those days I wasn’t practicing, I would teach a youth class to children studying Kenpo. Achieving my black belt is one of my greatest achievements.
Q: What motivates you?
A: Being able to help candidates through the interview process and help them find their next career opportunity. Recruiting is such a rewarding field because you are able to help make a difference in people’s lives for the better.
Q: What’s something your QCG co-workers say about you?
A: After asking around, the unanimous answer was that I am very sarcastic and quick witted. (Although I am slightly disappointed that they didn’t mention my ability to whip out Friends quote in just about any situation… I guess I’ll have to keep working on that).
Q: If you won an all-expenses-paid, dream vacation to anywhere in the world – where would you go and why?
A: Bora Bora in the French Polynesia. It’s always been a dream of mine to stay in those huts on the water. Some may find this ironic given that I avoid swimming at all costs, but I think I could make an exception this one time!
Everyone here at QCG would like to congratulate Shannon and her fiance, Seth Goodrich, who recently got engaged on a trip to Italy! Wishing you both all the best life and love has to offer!
